Highlights and Activities
Whether you are looking to lounge around in a hammock, be in the water every day, explore the area or set out on an adventure, our managers can give you great tips and local recommendations to make the most of your vacation.

Anclote Marina
A two minute walk from the Hotel La Quinta Del Sol is the local fisherman’s cooperative which provides pangas for snorkeling, bird watching, scuba diving, whale watching and even surfing.
Swim among a rainbow of tropical fish in the clear waters off Punta de Mita with off-shore reefs that are renowned for scuba diving and snorkeling. Watch the mighty humpback whales as they end their migration in Banderas Bay, November to March.
The unspoiled Las Marietas Islands, a wildlife sanctuary for seabirds, turtles, dolphins and mantas, is a popular panga trip. Full and partial day tours available.

Surfing
Punta Mita and the surrounding areas are well-known for world-class surfing. With over six popular breaks, these warm Pacific waters are ideal for beginners and experts alike. The variety of neighboring breaks – including Punta de Mita’s own El Faro and La Lancha - will keep you interested and coming back for more. Standup paddleboarding is quickly becoming a top sport in our area. Local surf shops offer rentals and lessons and chartering a panga will get you to some of the more secluded spots. With updated reports, the local surf report is a handy bookmark.
Fishing
Just outside of Bahia de Banderas, the Bay of Flags, is a popular spot for deep sea fishing. Expert guides will lead you to their favorite spots to catch yellowfin, billfish, wahoo, and dorado – all within 10 to 15 miles of the shore. Watch your guide fillet your fish so you can enjoy the catch of the day back at the hotel, grilled on our guest barbeque or at a local restaurant.
